There is no alcohol in our all-natural Saline Wash. Customers may detect a faint odor from the propellant, but the smell evaporates within minutes.

To enjoy an all-natural recovery with our Sea Salt, please follow these simple instructions:

1. Measures 1 cup of sterile or distilled water.

2. Mix 1/4 teaspoon of our Sea Salt into the water. The salt will dissolve more effectively if the distilled water is warm.

3. For more all-natural and assuaging benefits, add 2–3 drops of our Tea Tree Oil to the mixture and stir well.

4. Submerge your piercing in the saline solution for 5 up to 10 minutes.

Recovery is proud to sponsor artists who share our values: using as many natural ingredients as possible in productive ways, promoting vegan-friendly products, and encouraging a healthy and efficient aftercare for every client.

If these are the values you share, contact us at to explain why you favor our products for your valued clients.

You can also share your work to Instagram and mention us using @recoveryaftercare. Pictures of our products alongside your work, mentions of the specific products used, and healed shots sent to you by clients who used Recovery are great ways to catch our eye.

There is no contract involved in a sponsorship with us. We are just happy to see our sponsored artists share our products with their clients, studios, and other artists who may not have heard of us.

Our products are valuable and are therefore not available as free samples. However, we are happy to offer individual packets with sample sizes of our products for artists and shops. These sample packets allow artists to get a feel for the kind of aftercare we offer.

No, there is no latex in our Derm Shield. Recovery Derm Shield is a light, waterproof composite film bandage comprised of three layers: EVA film, matte PU film, and glassine. The matte PU film, which is the part of the bandage that remains on and protects the skin after tattooing, allows for optimal breathability and ductility when compared to glossy film bandages. Here is a link to the safety data sheet for our Derm Shield.

In order to be able to claim on the label of our Saline Wash solution that the product is “sterile,” the law requires that the product would have to be gamma irradiated. Gamma irradiation is a very expensive process, which is normally reserved for pharmaceutical applications rather than cosmetic products. Although the Saline Wash solution is not gamma irradiated, it is made in an FDA-approved facility using ISP water (a type of water used in cosmetic product manufacturing which is highly filtered and treated to remove bacterial and other impurities) to avoid any biological or inorganic impurities. Since our Saline Wash solution is packaged in a pressurized package, there is no possibility of contamination of the contents of the package either in storage or in actual use.

The solution inside the cans are made in an aseptic environment with no chance of contamination in the package, storage, or anywhere inside the solution regardless of sterility.

Yes, Recovery Tattoo Lotion is an emollient intended to soothe dry skin and replenish its natural moisture, so it should not pose a problem for micropigmentation. That said, we always recommend a small patch test if a client is unsure or concerned about an allergic reaction.

The term, cetyl alcohol, is a bit misleading. According to published literature, cetyl alcohol is considered safe and nontoxic for use on skin and hair. It also isn't drying or irritating like other types of alcohol. In cosmetic labeling, the standalone term "alcohol" refers to ethyl alcohol. Cosmetic products including those labeled "alcohol-free" may contain alcohols known as fatty alcohols, such as cetyl, stearyl, cetearyl, or lanolin.
